Film Screening: “Constant Companions”

Held in conjunction with the exhibition Animals, Monsters, and Creatures from the Collection, Aurora Picture Show and the Menil Collection copresent a curated program of short experimental films observing the ever-evolving role animals play in human culture and daily life. While animals and phantasmal creatures–often representing monsters, demons or gods–were central to early and pre-industrial societies, the works featured in “Constant Companions” by Jessie Mott, Steve Reinke, and Ann Oren among others look at how myth, animals, and the language of symbols function in the contemporary imagination.

This program is recommended for ages 13+ and will be presented indoors in the main building foyer.
