Carol Mancusi-Ungaro, Associated Director Emerita, Conservation and Research at the Whitney Museum of American Art, will discuss the techniques and materials used by Cy Twombly, shedding light on the artist’s unique approach to surface, gesture, and mark-making. Based on her relationship with the artist, that began at the inception of the Cy Twombly Gallery and lasted for two decades, Mancusi-Ungaro’s talk will also share insights into the artist/conservator nexus.
