Since 1989, WITS (Writers in the Schools) has brought thousands of Houston-area school children to the Menil Collection, exposing students to incredible art used to construct a dialogue that inspires creative writing. Students who submit their stories, poems, and prose, are then chosen through a juried competition to be published in the Watchful Eye anthology and to read their work at the Menil Collection at the end of the school year.
