Menil Society members are invited to the Menil Drawing Institute for a joint preview to celebrate the opening of Draw Like a Machine: Pop Art, 1952-1975 and Spatial Awareness: Drawings from the Permanent Collection.
Draw Like a Machine is curated by Kelly Montana, Assistant Curator, Menil Drawing Institute. The exhibition explores the innovative methods of draftsmanship pioneered by the leading practitioners associated with American Pop.
Spatial Awareness, curated by Saskia Verlaan, the inaugural Menil Drawing Institute Pre-Doctoral Fellow, features a selection of drawings from the mid-20th century to the present exploring the age-old ambition of rendering space, often in unexpected ways.
Face coverings are required inside museum buildings.
RSVP to Kim Vera by October 18, events@menil.org.
