John Cage is often associated with Zen or meditation or Japan, and New River Rocks and Smoke (1990) refers to a Zen temple’s famous dry stone garden. After an introduction, we will explore sonic, silent, and visual meditations for short periods. No experience necessary; John Cage couldn’t sit still either.
A meditator for more than thirty years, Joseph Newland has sat (and fidgeted less and less) through many retreats and concerts.
This event is free and open to the public.
