Among the most requested items in the Menil Library are the construction documentation of the museum’s buildings, particularly Renzo Piano’s main building, the winner of the American Institute of Architects prestigious 25 Year Award.
Head Librarian and architectural historian Eric M. Wolf will show members the library’s holdings of architectural drawings documenting the Menil Collection’s buildings and architectural projects. The construction documentation also shows the evolution of the medium of architectural drafting from the hand drawn work of the Renzo Piano Building Workshop of over 30 years ago to computer aided drawings of contemporary practice.
Held every Friday for a small group, Member Noontime Talks make exhibitions more intimate and reveal the collection as never before. To sign up, please RSVP to membership@menil.org. If you are not currently a Menil Member, you can learn more and join here.
