Excerpt: The Menil Collection and Houston Cinema Arts Society celebrate this year’s film festival with an evening of short films
Co-presented by the Houston Cinema Arts Society
Curator Jeanne Liotta writes about the program: “Adrift, immersed, imagined, skeptical, mysterious, or matter of fact, this evening’s constellation of fleeting films and videos is a jewel net of diverse approaches to the known and unknown forces that describe our world. From the pure psychedelic past to the presence of unadorned data, from the technological sublime to the tripped switch of wayward histories, our life on Earth continues and occasionally we abandon ourselves to dreams unbidden and starry nights in open fields.”
