Development Services Associate
The Menil Collection seeks a development services associate to support the manager of development services in the management of all back office development functions.
The development services associate works with all members of the Advancement Department to manage data and produce reports to assist with different functions of the department, including membership, special events, corporate giving, prospect research, major giving, and special projects. Data management and maintaining integrity of the database are key components of the work.
The person in this position is also responsible for prompt response to the accounting department as it pertains to fund distribution, posting to the general ledger and providing pledge or gift documentation.
Primary duties include:
- gift entry and other data entry
- ongoing database cleanup and maintenance
- producing gift acknowledgement and substantiation of gift forms
- producing gift reports for accounting and for the advancement team
- administrative duties such as making copies of gift documentation, reports and other documents as needed, scanning correspondence, filing of gift documentation, giving reports, donor correspondence and more
- responding to requests from other staff members
Specifically, duties include entering gift batches in Raisers Edge and posting to the Financial Edge; processing online donations as they are received; managing the membership module in Raiser’s Edge; creating new records and membership cards; tracking and managing the donor recognition process, tracking and producing pledge reminders; monitoring the electronic as well as hard files to assure accuracy.
Considered one of the most important privately assembled collections of the twentieth century, the Menil Collection houses approximately seventeen thousand painting, sculptures, and prints, drawings, photographs, and rare books. Masterpieces from antiquity, Byzantium and the medieval period, the cultures of Africa, Oceania, and the American Pacific Northwest and the twentieth century, including significant surrealist holdings, are particularly well represented.
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree. Minimum 2+ years experience working in a non-profit organization, preferably the fundraising department. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge or equivalent database software strongly preferred. Experience with Financial Edge a plus. Professional, strong attention to detail, strong organizational, planning, and time management skills. Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a strong sense of meeting deadlines and follow-up requests. Self-motivated, shares credit and takes responsibility for actions. Creative, flexible, excellent communication skills. Team player.
